Our vision, mission and aims
Our vision is a society for all ages in which older people in Yorkshire and the Humber have a good quality of life and more opportunities, now and in the future.
To focus expertise and experience in a multi agency forum that enables partners to respond effectively to key issues affecting the diverse and ageing population of the Yorkshire and Humber Region.
To act as a forum for highlighting and effectively responding to key issues facing the ageing population of the Yorkshire and Humber region:
Influence a wide range of public, private and independent agencies on issues of ageing, valuing older people as a resource, and of the importance of the social and economic well-being of older people.
Communicate effectively and work in partnership with a range of agencies, older people and their representatives, and other stakeholders concerned with issues of ageing.
Promote awareness of the impact and implications of demographic chane across the region and champion activities which promote awareness of Age Discrimination.
Involve older people in order to ensure their views are represented within regional strategic developments and are used to inform the work of the Future Years.
In delivering the above objectives the forum will:
Work in partnership with interested and relevant agencies which reflect the diversity of the regions population.
Share information and resources including, for example, data, details on legislation, developments and initiatives, problems and examples of best practice.
Support and promote the development of partnership working and multi-sector approaches.
Support and promote initiatives and developments relevant to the region's ageing population.
Conduct research and specific pieces of work; source and gather evidenc; collate and share findings and informaiton wtih partners and other stakeholders.
- Engage with older people, to ensure their involvement and consultation in key regional strategic developments.
